Operations management, particularly in new product development processes. Research pertaining to operational issues dealing with the design, development, production, and distribution of goods and services, with a focus on emerging tools and techniques in product/process design and development, design and manufacturing technologies, information management, and methods for integrating design and manufacturing to improve process performance. Research projects include consulting work, training seminars provided in industry with organizations such as the Department of National Defence (DND) of Canada, Newbridge Networks Corporation (now Alcatel Networks Corporation), and the National Research Council’s Industrial Materials Institute (NRC IMI).
